Myosciurus is a monotypic genus of rodent in the squirrel family Sciuridae, containing a single species, the African pygmy squirrel. It inhabits tropical rainforest across Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Together with the least pygmy squirrel of Asia, it is the smallest squirrel in the world, measuring about twelve to fourteen centimeters in total length and weighing just fifteen to eighteen grams, less than a typical house mouse. It was classified as Vulnerable from 1994 to 2004 but is now listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
