Orcaella

Orcaella is a genus of cetacean, family Delphinidae, known as the snubfin dolphins and comprising two living species, the Irrawaddy dolphin and the Australian snubfin dolphin. The genus was long considered monotypic, containing only the Irrawaddy dolphin, until 2005, when populations inhabiting Australian and New Guinean waters were found to differ significantly in skull shape, dorsal fin height, coloration and genetics, a roughly 5.9 percent genetic divergence, and were split off as the separate Australian snubfin dolphin.
