Sousa

Sousa is a genus of dolphin, family Delphinidae, known as the humpback dolphins and comprising four recognized living species, the Indo-Pacific, Indian Ocean, Atlantic and Australian humpback dolphins, distinguished by conspicuous humps and elongated dorsal fins on adults. The genus inhabits shallow nearshore waters along coastlines across Africa, Asia and Australia, a habitat preference that exposes it to fisheries entanglement, boat traffic, pollution and habitat loss but also makes it comparatively easy to observe from land, including at established dolphin-watching sites such as Hong Kong and Oman's Musandam Peninsula.
