Speyeria is a genus of butterflies, family Nymphalidae, tribe Argynnini, commonly known as greater fritillaries, named by Scudder in 1872. The genus comprises 19 species, three found in Eurasia and 16 in North America. It was reestablished as separate from the closely related and already-live genus Argynnis in 2017, following taxonomic study that resolved the two as distinct sister genera within the same tribe rather than one being subsumed into the other.
