Enterobacterales is an order of Gram-negative bacteria in the class Gammaproteobacteria, named for its type genus Enterobacter. Its members are typically non-spore-forming, rod-shaped and facultatively anaerobic, occupying a wide range of ecological niches. The order includes major human and animal pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica and Yersinia pestis, as well as plant pathogens in genera such as Dickeya and Pectobacterium.
