Grylloblattodea is an insect order generally recognized as containing a single living family, Grylloblattidae, the ice crawlers or icebugs, wingless insects adapted to extreme cold on mountaintops and glacier edges that cannot tolerate warmth, with most species dying above about 10 degrees Celsius. Some classifications instead rank Grylloblattodea as a suborder, together with the gladiator insects of Mantophasmatodea, within a combined order Notoptera.
