Spirochaetales is an order of spirochete bacteria in the phylum Spirochaetota and class Spirochaetia, named by Buchanan in 1917 and approved in the official lists in 1980. Some species in the order cause syphilis, Lyme disease and relapsing fever, among other illnesses.
