Vitales is a monotypic order of flowering plants containing a single family, Vitaceae, commonly known as the grape family. Vitaceae comprises about 20 genera and around 910 known species, including the genus Vitis, from which grapevines and cultivated grapes are derived, along with Virginia creeper and other climbing plants.
