The largest order of marsupials, defined by two enlarged, forward-pointing incisors in the lower jaw and, in most species, a pouch used to carry developing young. Diprotodontia includes kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats and possums, and is found almost entirely in Australia and New Guinea.
