Beech marten

The beech marten, also called the stone marten, house marten or white breasted marten, is a mustelid found across much of Europe and Central Asia, with a feral population established in North America. It is superficially similar to the closely related European pine marten but is smaller and, unlike the forest specialist pine marten, thrives across a wide range of open and wooded habitats, including areas close to people. Its extensive range, large population and presence in protected areas support its classification as Least Concern.
