Oman Anemonefish

The Oman anemonefish (Amphiprion omanensis) is endemic to Oman on the Arabian Peninsula, occupying a restricted range of roughly 400 kilometers between its scattered populations. It reaches about 14 centimeters and is dark brown with two narrow white bars and a forked tail that is blackish in young fish and turns white in adults, the white tail helping distinguish it from similar species. As a largely sedentary fish that depends on ocean currents to disperse its brief pelagic larvae, less than three weeks, its populations spread unevenly along the coast. It associates with the bubble tip anemone and the sebae anemone, and the IUCN lists it as Least Concern.
