Saddleback Clownfish

The saddleback clownfish (Amphiprion polymnus), also called the yellowfin anemonefish, lives across the Indo-Pacific from the Philippines through Indonesia, New Guinea, and Australia to Melanesia and Japan's Ryukyu Islands, favoring silty lagoons and harbor areas at depths of 2 to 30 meters. It grows to about 13 centimeters and is dark brown to yellow orange with several white bars and a distinctive white saddle shaped marking across the body. It associates mainly with the haddon's sea anemone and occasionally the sebae anemone, is territorial and active by day, and feeds on zooplankton, bottom dwelling crustaceans, and algae.
