Cycadopsida is the class of cycads, seed plants making up the division Cycadophyta, with a stout woody trunk topped by a crown of large, stiff, evergreen, feather shaped leaves. Cycads are dioecious, meaning each plant is either male or female, and range from a few centimeters to several meters in trunk height, growing slowly and living long lives. Though they superficially resemble palms or ferns, they are not closely related to either, and rely on specialized pollinators, usually a particular beetle, though sometimes a thrips or moth.
