Anacardiaceae, commonly known as the cashew family or sumac family, is a family of flowering plants in the order Sapindales comprising about 83 genera and 860 known species, most abundant in warm or tropical regions with only a few species in temperate zones. Its members bear fruits that are drupes, some producing the irritant urushiol, and possess resin canals running through the stems, roots, and leaves. The family includes cashew, mango, pistachio, and sumac.
