Solifugae is an order of arachnids known by many common names, including solifuges, sun spiders, camel spiders and wind scorpions, though they are neither true spiders nor scorpions. More than 1,000 described species in about 147 genera are recognized, mostly from dry, arid climates. They are carnivorous generalists that hunt ground-dwelling arthropods and small animals, and the largest species reach 12 to 15 centimeters including the legs.
