Amoebozoa

Amoebozoa is a major group of eukaryotic organisms characterized by cells that move and feed using blunt, temporary extensions called pseudopods, encompassing most organisms traditionally called amoebae along with the slime molds. Amoebozoa are found in soil, freshwater, and marine habitats worldwide, and the group includes both free living species that feed on bacteria and other microbes as well as some parasitic species, most notably Entamoeba histolytica, which causes amoebic dysentery in humans.
