The bay cat, also known as the Bornean bay cat, is a small wild cat endemic to the island of Borneo. It appears to be relatively rare compared to other wild cats sharing its range, based on the scarcity of historical and recent records. It has been listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2002, with fewer than 2,500 mature individuals estimated to exist and a declining population.
