Acrocephalidae

Acrocephalidae is a family of oscine passerine birds in the superfamily Locustelloidea, commonly called reed warblers, marsh and tree warblers, or acrocephalid warblers, comprising seven genera of which the genus Acrocephalus alone holds more than 40 species. Members are usually rather large warblers, olive brown above with much yellow to beige below, forming a fairly uniform-looking group that inhabits open woodland, reedbeds or tall grass. Their distribution runs mostly through southern to western Eurasia and surrounding regions, extending well into the Pacific, with further populations in Africa; the genus Acrocephalus itself is known to be para- or polyphyletic, reflecting real taxonomic complexity within the family.
