Rosaceae, the rose family, is a family of flowering plants that includes 4,828 known species in 91 genera, with a worldwide range but the greatest diversity in the Northern Hemisphere. Most species are deciduous, though some are evergreen, and the family is economically significant for edible fruits including apples, pears, cherries, strawberries and almonds, as well as ornamental plants such as roses and rowans.
