Brassicaceae

Brassicaceae, commonly known as the mustards, the crucifers, or the cabbage family, is a family of flowering plants in the order Brassicales comprising over 350 genera and more than 4,300 species. Its flowers typically have four free sepals, four free petals arranged in a cross, two shorter stamens and four longer stamens, and its fruits carry seeds in rows divided by a thin septum. The family includes major food crops such as cabbage, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, turnip, rapeseed, radish, and horseradish, along with Arabidopsis thaliana, a widely used model organism in plant biology.
