Equidae is the horse family, one of three living families in the order Perissodactyla, the odd-toed ungulates, comprising a single living genus, Equus, whose species include horses, asses and zebras. Members are large, single-toed grazing and browsing mammals adapted for running, with a native range across Africa and Asia before human-assisted introductions elsewhere.
